The Burrard Hotel Vancouver

The courtyard of The Burrard doesn't feel like Vancouver, but more like some seaside apartment block in California, or Florida. Palm trees rise up through the middle of the square lined with pastel coloured doors and white railings. The Burrard is hip, but not excessively so. It's clean, simple, and only moderately eclectic.

In the rooms the beds are decent, but they won't be advertising the place based on that — you could find a more heavenly sleep elsewhere, but they are more than adequate. Nice touches include a Nescafe Nespresso machine in the room, and mod looking furniture. I like that the room is easy to get to without a long elevator ride.

The staff at the hotel were exceptionally helpful and friendly. This may have made the stay entirely worth it on its own. The Container Coffee shop on the ground floor is also a nice touch. As far as location goes, this is an ideally situated hotel in downtown Vancouver right in the middle of all the places you'll probably want to be. Yaletown, Robson Street, Gastown, and The West End are all easily accessible from The Burrard.

Parking's a little tight, and it's not The Shangri-La, but if you're looking for simple and relaxed accommodation, this is a great spot.
