The Great Montreal Poutine Diary

It's as Québécois as it is Canadian, and as cliché as Mounties and beavers, but no matter how you feel about it, Poutine is one of our nation's signature dishes.

Years ago I went to the legendary Montreal eatery La Banquise for the first time on the suggestion of a local colleague. What ensued has been a life's work in gravy and cheese oriented potato achievement.

Each visit since I have returned to La Banquise to cross one more of the 25 poutine off the list. Here is how it has shaken out.
